We hope you’re having a cheery, cultural winter, and that our end-of-year update on everything going on behind the scenes at Stories on Stage will warm your chilly fingers.

NEW--OUR 2020 SEASON OF FRIDAY-NIGHT PERFORMANCES
We are swooning at the talent coming to Sacramento this season and wanted to share the names and dates right away so you can get them on your calendar. Performances will take place at The Clara Auditorium, 1425 24th Street, Sacramento, doors opening at 7:00 and events beginning at 7:30. We will share more information about authors and actors as each date approaches.

You will be able to reserve your spot at performances in advance by donating via Eventbrite. As before, you can also choose to donate at the door, if seats are still available. (Suggested donations—$10 for most of us, $5 for college students.)

NEW--SATURDAY-MORNING GENERATIVE WORKSHOPS
In the spirit of supporting our local writing community and the authors who visit us, on Saturday mornings following Friday performances, we will host author-facilitated generative workshops from nine until noon. Tuition is $75. We are firming up the details and will forward those soon, but here is the rough plan:

NEW--PARTNERING WITH CAPITAL BOOKS
We are so lucky to partner this year with Sacramento’s newest players in the literary scene, Heidi Komlofski-Rojek and Ross Rojek (and, obviously, Lily-the-bookstore-dog) from Capital Books, on K Street next door to The Crest Theater. They are grand boosters of everything literary and everything local. They will be selling SOSS author books at our events and at their store. Be sure to drop in and share the love. They also manage online orders as a local indie alternative to you-know-who. #ShopLocal

NEW--WE'RE A NON-PROFIT YOU CAN OFFICIALLY DONATE TO
SOSS is now a registered 501(c)(3) organization, a designation we hope will help us make this beloved ten-year-old enterprise sustainable into the future. We’re still learning how to work in this space and will keep you posted. At the very least, we are now able to accept your official, write-off-able donations, should your heart swell for us in that way.
