Thanks so much for showing up for opening night 2020. We love the way Sacramento book people support this eleven-year-old program Valerie Fioravanti created and Sue Staats nurtured. Over 200 people attended, some of the more flexible among us agreeing to sit on the floor. Our readers, Caro Marks and Gay Cooper, were fantastic, under Peggi Wood's final direction. Authors Dorothy Rice and Pam Houston loved the thing that IS Stories on Stage--the opportunity to watch their written work performed. Our new bookselling partner, Capital Books (on K Street, next door to the Crest Theater) brought ALL of Pam Houston's and Dorothy Rice's books! Our volunteers took on so many changes with cheer. Clara Auditorium hustled to help us make it work. Pushkin's Bakery and Sue Staats provided the sweets, as always. And Sacramento State jumped in to donate funds for students to participate in all parts of our program this year, even a spot for a student to attend the Pam Houston workshop.
Soon, we'll share details about our next event in March. But for now, please just enjoy a handful of the pictures photographer Anita Scharf shared with us.
